Honey mustard

As the name implies, honey mustard is a blend of mustard and honey, which typically results in a mustard that’s more sweet than sharp.

Former Southern California chef Dan Ryan first introduced a honey mustard salad dressing in the 1970s to 80s, at least according to his former son-in-law; Ken Hulick.

Honey mustard was so tangy, creamy, sweet, and delicious. Because of its sugar content, it caramelizes beautifully, and deepens the flavor of whatever it touches.

Honey mustard is a mustard-based condiment that is most often used as a dip for finger foods, a salad dressing, or as a glaze or marinade for meat. Some popular varieties of this condiment include hot honey mustard and honey Dijon mustard.
